This reading is a part of the book Radical Technologies (Greenfield 2017) focusing on the influence that smartphone brings to the world.
In this age of technology, mobile phones have improved every aspect of human life. By reading Radical Technologies (Greenfield 2017), I learned that with the development of science, technology has changed the way humans solve problems and their behaviour patterns.
Mobile phone replaced a lot of things in the past. It replaces the tool for recording time. People no longer rely on watches, clocks, and paper calendars, all of which can be viewed on a mobile phone.
It also replaces the tools people used to record memories. People no longer print a lot of photos to record daily life. Taking photos has become easy, and there are more and more photos. People use their mobile phones to browse photos or make photos into videos to recall the past. Some people even use mobile phones to record diaries and give up paper diaries.
Compass and maps have also been replaced by mobile phones. In cities, people no longer need to ask for directions on the street or use a compass to show directions. Mobile phones provide a great convenience for people to travel.
The way people pay has also changed dramatically. Mobile payment online saves people from taking cash out. Wallets are gradually being replaced by mobile phones.
These changes demonstrate the impact of mobile phones on the world.
